Digital Art Dubai
The fifteenth Art Dubai now has a digital exhibition for the first time, focusing mainly on crypto and NFTs. The digital galleries created specifically for this purpose at Art Dubai Digital are now also bringing Art Dubai into the digital age. The new section of the show explores the context out of which NFTs, cryptocurrency, video art and virtual reality (VR) have grown since the rise of digital art, Art Dubai says on its site.
In addition to the exhibitions, Art Dubai is also inviting several guest speakers to attend the event, which “will give visitors greater understanding about the rapid growth in digital platforms”, the website adds. NFTs and crypto are thus becoming more and more prevalent in the art world.
Election campaign in South Korea with NFT
This year’s election campaign in South Korea was somewhat different from what we have been used to so far. In the country where the crypto industry had just taken off, NFTs now also played a role in the election campaign. This year’s election winner, and thus the country’s new president, sold 4000 NFTs specially made for the election campaign. These campaign NFTs, with the candidate’s portrait, could be purchased in advance.
Korea expert Ramon Pacheco Pardo attributes the sudden enthusiasm for cryptocurrency in the election campaign to the great interest of South Koreans in cryptocurrencies, as he told BTC-Echo. So the topic of crypto is now also becoming more present in politics.
Amazon and Metaverse
According to media reports, tech giant Amazon could now also enter the metaverse. Job ads from the group were looking for workers who could take over the provision of cloud-based metaverse services, the reports added. Alongside Meta, Alphabet subsidiary Google and Microsoft, this could be the next tech giant to jump into the metaverse.
FC Barcelona in Metaverse?
FC Barcelona could soon set up its own cryptocurrency. The launch of some NFT collections could be followed by the creation of its own cryptocurrency, according to several media reports on FC Barcelona’s plans. Club president Joan Laporta had previously announced these at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
In addition to cryptocurrencies and NFTs, the step into the metaverse is also possible. In this way, Barcelona could hope to pay off its debts, which have put the club in a difficult situation in recent years.
