FC Barcelona in Metaverse?
FC Barcelona could soon set up its own cryptocurrency. The launch of some NFT collections could be followed by the creation of its own cryptocurrency, according to several media reports on FC Barcelona’s plans. Club president Joan Laporta had previously announced these at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Fashion week in Decantraland
According to various media reports, the metaverse platform Decantraland will be hosting its first Metaverse Fashion Week from 24.03.2022. As Token.com reports on its website, several major fashion companies, including Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Cavalli and Elie Saab, will present their latest fashion creations from 24 to 27 March.
According to Vogue, virtual avatars will walk the runways to showcase the fashion, which can be bought right there.
South Korea invests 187 million dollars in metaverse
The South Korean Ministry of Science and ICT pledged “full-fledged support for the creation of an expanded virtual world ecosystem (Metaverse)” in a press release on Feb. 27, 2022. This project is to be funded with the equivalent of around 187 million US dollars.
The domestic digital economy is to be strengthened and made globally competitive. Among other things, a Metaversum development competition and a hackathon are to be organized.
Phishing attack at OpenSea
According to various media reports, OpenSea users lost hundreds of NFTs in a hacker attack. The source of the attack was initially unclear.
OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer responded via Twitter, “As far as we can tell, this is a phishing attack. We don’t believe it’s connected to the OpenSea website. It appears 32 users thus far have signed a malicious payload from an attacker, and some of their NFTs were stolen.”
The stolen NFTs had a worth of 1.7 million US Dollars, according to Finzer.
